Guest guest
You will see a number of websites and forums where Jello is pronounced to be gluten-free, BUT:1. There are almost no authoritative citations as to where the authors got their information, so I do not consider their assertions worth taking a chance.2. You need to get hold of Kraft, the company that now owns Jello, to verify that whatever flavors of Jello you are interested in are currently gluten-free. Kraft does have a web page on their general labeling regarding gluten content (at: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/healthy-living-ideas/Articles/food-allergies/glutenfreefoods.aspx), but, as far as my GF wife and I are concerned, this is not sufficient. A customer service number for contacting Kraft is: 1-877-535-5666. But, is Jello considered gluten-free and/or is there a specific brand that is? I also have to follow a FODMAP diet for IBS, so I'm concerned even if Jello is gluten-free will it be FODMAP safe? Guest guest
I've had two or three colonoscopies, requiring a sort of laxative and "food" limited to jello, liquids. To tell the truth, eating becomes of no interest at all. I force myself to drink the approved fluids (Seven-up and ginger ale, as I recall, were okay.) Food just plain didn't matter during this process.. Having very soft toilet paper and/or Tucks-type soothing wipes does, a lot. I don't think you're going to suffering from hunger. I think I was told to avoid dark-colored jello, but I can't remember for certain.
