Hi ,

Being Celiac has made me extremely anemic, actually one of the reasons how I

found out I had celiac. My blood levels were so low I had to go to the ER, but

since then I have been on an extra 650mg of iron a day. Before I started taking

iron, i was extremely tired at the end of the day, during work outs, and would

get very close to fainting when it was hot outside. I can definitely tell the

difference when I take it and when I don't take it for a few days. They do sell

it over the counter in amounts of about 300mg so I would try adding that to your

daily vitamins.

absorption of vitamin B12 or other vitamins and minerals due to celiac?  I have

been taking B12 supplements since May due to high MCV (a sign of B12

deficiency), but am still feeling very anemic when I exercise, like I have no

strength at all.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I've heard some people

need B12 shots.  If anyone has tried them, do they help?

You might try sublingual B12 supplements, which are placed under

the tongue and absorbed in the mouth, and see if you get better results that

way.

I'm new to this group, and am wondering if anyone else has

had a problem with absorption of vitamin B12 or other vitamins and minerals

due to celiac? I have been taking B12 supplements since May due to high
