Guest guest
I tried the g-f Cheesy Hashbrowns Hamburger Helper this past weekend..... Oh my gosh, it was awful! That cheese sauce in the package to pour over it was nothing short of disgusting (just my feelings). I was a vegetarian (I remember fondly my wonderful hippie days in SF) for over 32 years before I was diagnosed with celiac disease, so I never had eaten the regular Hamburger Helper and wanted to try the new g-f version. My sob story is that I lost 23 pounds and weighed just 94 lbs. before finally being diagnosed with CD. I was losing a pound a day and so weak and desperate to live that I would do anything, including having my husband spoon feed me chicken soup. To give up my strong, long-held belief in not eating animals was one of those profound moments in life someone never forgets. Yet, I don't regret it. It defined me in how much I wanted to live and see my children grow up. Obviously, I am digressing off the subject - sorry about that! Anyway, I think if you fried a little hamburger, threw in some frozen hashbrowns and sprinkled some fresh shredded cheese on top, you would get the same dinner, but ten times more delicious without all the artifical junk they put in these packaged dinners. Again, just my little ol' opinion..... Sue
