Guest guest
I just want to remind everyone that you can never make generalizations about a particular type of food being gluten-free. As soon as you feel safe thinking you don’t have to worry about popcorn, someone will come up with a cookie dough flavor or decide to season it with soy sauce. My best advice is to always check with the manufacturer or a reputable list. The same situation recently came up with Merrick. I have his teachers pretty well trained, and before making the popcorn they asked me. Unfortunately it wasn’t one of several types of popcorn I had checked before, so I got the manufacturer’s name and did a quick check of their web site. In the FAQ section I found that it was listed as gluten-free. It took only a few minutes to check on this, but it gave me the peace of mind that Merrick wouldn’t get glutened. The internet is a wonderful tool and makes finding out the gluten status of a food so easy. If anyone would like my suggestions for how to find out if a product is gluten-free, send me an e-mail off list and I will send it to you.
