Guest guest
, The website you gave does not lead to a site selling organic meat. I used google to discover the correct URL, http://www.whiteegretfarm.com/ Alobar On 11/21/08, melly banagale <@...> wrote: > > White Egret Farms in Austin, Texas sells organic, grass fed, free range, no gmo fed chicken, turkey (seasonal), beef, and goat meats. Also organic eggs, goat milk, cheeses and yogurt and whey from goat milk. Their chicken really taste different from supermarket sold chicken. They are also so very tender. They ship out of state - frozen though. But when i buy there the meats are of course frozen too. But still tastes good. Their website is: www.whiteegretfarms.com > . I am only a customer of theirs and have no financial interest with them. > > >
Guest guest
Leptin is a hormone produced by fat cells. Leptin signals the brain to tell a person when to stop eating. When one is leptin resistant, the brain cannot " hear " the leptin so it does not tell a person to stop eating. So, with leptin resistance, one tends to binge on foods and has a real hard time staying on any healthy diet. What triggers leptin resistance is the same thing which triggers insulin resistance -- too many carbs. Leptin helped us survive during times of famine. When one is famished, leptin helps us store every extra calorie as fat, and prompts us to keep eating and eating whenever we find food. When the brain cannot sense leptin, the brain slows down metabolism to save energy and help us put on fat needed for survival. But most modern people are not starving. Slowing down the metabolism, being hungry all the time, and binging on high carb foods is what many people need to struggle against. No problem about the website. I am pretty good at finding sites via google once I know what I am looking for. If shipping isn't too much I may buy 20 pounds of burger from them, once I make sure the burger is from grass fed cows. Right now I can only obtain grain fed beef locally and according to the leptin books, I should be avoiding grain fed beef because of the high omega 6 oils. When I stopped being ale to obtain grass fed beef, my fasting blood sugars went up. Insulin resistance and leptin resistance tend to go hand in hand, and taking in lots of omega 3 helps control both. Guest guest
, The problem is not how much Leptin you have, the problem is whether your brain is leptin resistant. If you have carb cravings even when you have eaten a meal (e.g., feeling like you *need* to eat dessert) you probably have leptin resistance. If you have absolutely no problem staying on a low carb diet, I suspect you do not have leptin resistance. Diabetics tend to be leptin resistant, as do non-diabetics who have to struggle to keep from getting fat. Just don't know if they give them other foods to eat. . They also have grass fed lean goat meat. The owner said this is better and less fat than beef. One thing he assured us is that his beef is definitely " Non-Mad Cow " . > > > > >
Guest guest
Blood sugar rises when I eat low carb, then start catabolizing my musles while I sleep to get make glucose. That is not good if one desires to retian strength and enduranced as as one gets old. The problem seems to be connected with the body being too lazy to metabolize body fat for energy. Easier for the body to convert muscle to sugar and use that for energy. Once I increased my dietary intake of healthy fats, and had both coconut oil and whey before I went to sleep, I stopped losing muscle mass, began to regain some of the strength and staimina I had lost, and did not put on any weight. These days my fasting glucose is high, but when I could eat grass fed beef instead of grain fed supermaket beef (with growth hormones, antibiotics, and pesticide residues) my fasting blood glucose was fine. Of course if there are grains in your diet, that could also be a problem. Grains are digested slowly, so even if you have no meals for 4 hours before bed, grains will turn into glucose while you sleep. The thing that bothers me is that i go to bed with a normal blood glucose but when i get up the following morning my blood sugar rises way above normal around the 150-155 range. I'm sure I don't eat in my sleep LOL. I read that if this happens i have a problem with leptin. So how do i correct the leptin problem? > > Thanks. > > >
