Guest guest
By the way, Sharon, URI International also carries one of the best grade Virgin Coconut Oils as well. Apparently they did comprehensive tests on about a dozen sources before deciding on the one they now sell. Here's the link again.... www.uriinternational.com/raworganicfoods Helen From: sharonbluebird <sharonbluebird@...> Subject: Thyroid Health; Re: Fluoride Coconut Oil Date: Saturday, July 5, 2008, 9:54 AM To k8teeth, Thanks for the info for thyroid health. I was diagnosed with low thyroid 7 years ago and a very dear email friend of mine who had run a health food store in Missouri for a couple decades encouraged me to ask for " armour " rather than synthroid, so I had a fun time convincing my doctor to prescribe that. I thought low thyroid people were supposed to avoid iodized salt. Has anyone else heard that? I am SO glad to read about using seaweed to help the thyroid. I live in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico, USA, so I don't have a nice big Wild Oats store or anything like that, but a couple times a year I make a day trip to a little city that does have a mom and pop natural grocery and get a few things that way; I also will order from amazon.com a couple times a year and have been happy to get natural products through them. SO, next time I am doing one of those two things, I'll try to remember to get some " ito wakame seaweed " . Thanks so much k8teeth for this info. Where do you learn about all of this? As for fluoride, I do have a filter on my kitchen sink and use water from that for making my tea and for cooking. I brush my teeth with Dr. Bronner's liquid soap. Now, I have heard somewhere that TEA has fluoride in it, too! {I already gave up coffee, ain't no way I'm giving up tea.} I drink green tea. And sometimes Lipton tea (in the yellow box, used to be called orange pekoe, now they won't say, it just says 100% natural tea). I am such a beginner at all this, advice welcomed, folks. Where are you learning all these things? Books? Websites? ? Radio programs? 1a. Re: Fluoride Posted by: " k8teeth " stonesignshotmail (DOT) com k8teeth Thu Jun 19, 2008 10:00 pm (PDT) Fluoride is a halogen along with many others in our 'environmental diet'. bromide is put into white flour(what moron doctor said to do this). Chlorine in our water and this includes fluoride. All these interfere with our thyroid by displacing iodine,or if there isnt enough iodine, the thyroid thinks these others are like iodine and so absorbs them. We can avoid the poisoning,or minimising our being poisoned, by making sure we have plenty of iodine, because the thyroid uses the iodine first. We have to protect our thyroid and one way is iodine. Im using seaweed because it has iodine thats easily used by the thyroid. 1.5 grams a day. I get mine from an asian food store in dried form (ito wakame)and then get the dried amount thats weighed and put it into water. I buy it this way because then i know what seaweed Im getting. Its a fantastic green color. I then wizz it up with a stick mixer. I have tried tablets of kelp, but none of them have the same effect as the getting the kelp this way. http://www.magnasce ntiodine. com/sircusiodine .mp3 The above is one link to a radio program of a Doctor who has become an iodine crusader. I dont agree with everything he says, but its interesting what he has to say.
