Guest guest
What kind of Gluten Free bakery is this? ... since it is " for the masses " I mean. I spoke to B3 in SF today to see if their " gluten-free buns " were in stock and they said that they were not, maybe they were getting them from a new bakery in San Francisco. When I spoke with the owner last time I ate there (the only time and I just had the burger no bun) he was talking about restocking Kinnikinnick brand buns from WF (the kind of " gluten-free " I like). As far as I'm aware I told the woman on the phone today, there is no gluten-free bakery in San Francisco.. unless she said SF but was referring to Mariposa. I mentioned the Kinnikinnick brand to her and said that it was my personal preference. Now since we've had some discussion of the important labeling issues recently I'm going to bring up what I had heard about Crave bakery.. that their products were not made in a dedicated GF kitchen.. at least a couple years ago. I stopped eating their brownies anyway because I can't tolerate whole eggs, and I never brought this up with the group before because I had heard it from sort of a competitor. So there's my disclaimer, though I may be accused of starting rumors now as well as being inflammatory. I haven't looked at any Crave products to see what is on their label but I thought it important to bring this up given how the trend of non-gluten free gluten free options is making things worse for celiacs who are sensitive.
