Guest guest
I had lunch today at Melo's Pizza in Livermore. They have a gluten-free personal size pizza that they are offering. I think that the crusts are from Dad's in Idaho. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I had a conversation with the owner about their process and they use dedicated cooking equipment and check all the ingredients. The only topping that isn't currently gluten-free is the BBQ chicken, and he says they are going to have that resolved in a few months. In the meantime, the pizza is good, and he's working on a full gluten-free menu that will include entrees and sandwiches. He does sandwiches currently by special order, toasted and italian style. They do NY-style pizza, which means they are tossing pizza crusts in the air and there's the obvious chance of cross contamination in the air, but I've been there twice so far and no problems to report. This is good news - Eddie Papa's closed their Livermore branch (although Pleasanton is still open) and Extreme Pizza has closed as well. I was running out of options, but it looks like Melo's has us covered in the farthest reaches of the East Bay...
