We've had success eating at the Los Altos Grill. I recommend speaking with the

manager rather than just the server and ask him to speak to the chef regarding

which items can be made gf and cooked separately to avoid cc. We've eaten there

several times with success and the food is great. However, since it gets very

busy, I recommend going on the earlier side - 5-5:30pm.

I've eaten at Cascal (tapas) on Castro St. They have a dedicated allergen menu. Very good, but a little pricey. On Sat, Jan 8, 2011 at 8:39 AM, Cara <cara@...> wrote:

I have eaten at Amici's, Los Altos Grill and Cascal.  Some others: ZPizza and Vaso Azzuro on Castro.  ZPizza has gf pizza.  Vaso Azzuro is Italian and they are very accomodating.  Then there's In N Out.  And there is a new place called Cafe Vitale in LA at Loyola corners that I hear has GF options and is on my list of places to try.

A little further south is Pizza Party on the corner of Lawrence and Homestead in

Santa Clara. Went there again last night and had a artichoke chicken pizza. It

was great. Thin crust. Only comes in medium. Cost is only $2 more than regular.

Place is " down home " , sort of a " family style sports bar " .

Worth a try.
