Party Pizza in Santa Clara - a great bargain and great g-f pizza

Party Pizza in Santa Clara is still the best bargain around (and has one of the

better g-f pizzas).

After signing up to Pizza Party's Royalty Rewards program over a year ago, we

receive emails every week which have up to 30% off pizzas (two discounts to a

customer, even on g-f pizzas) and $10.00 off coupons on any order. We just ate

there again on Sat. night, and for $21.99, we received two small combo pizzas

(one regular pizza, one g-f pizza) and two large drinks. You cannot get that

kind of a bargain anywhere around this area!

Two quick negatives – they do get loud on a Sat. night with pizza parties all

around (I don't mind it, but some people may), and their pizzas are starting to

come out a little darker than they used to be (I don't mind it too much because

I like crisp pizza crust, but you could ask them to watch your g-f pizza a bit

closer to make sure it doesn't get that overbaked look). Enjoy!

Thanks for the info, as we live only a mile from it. But, does anybody know if they are more careful about cross-contamination than was discussed before? I had been enjoying pizza party a number of times w/o issue but then- probably

the 10th time we had it, I had a reaction. I spoke with one of the owners to

report the issue - given we go in there so often they were pretty concerned.

Since then they have completely re-worked their process (not sure if it was

because of my reaction or just coincidence). Gluten free pizzas are made on

clean screens with clean utensils and they have a dedicated gluten free pizza

cutter. I have probably eaten there another 10 times since then and have had no

issue. I would call them and ask to speak with the owner or whoever the manager

is on duty so they can go over their process.

Pizza Party is my favorite GF pizza by far - Tony & Albas is very good too

although the French Meadow crust is hard to get crispy enough since it's cooked

in its own tin pan. In terms of ambiance, I absolutely love Tony & Albas (we

went to the one in San near Valley Fair last week) - it is truly a gem -

every employee is genuinely happy to be there and very interested in making sure

we are happy and eating safely. Their owner Al offered to have us come back

sometime and help them taste test some other cooking strategies to get the crust

crispy (perhaps pre-baking the crust before putting on toppings) - we're way

excited :-). Tony & Alba's does have superior sauce and toppings to Pizza Party

-but Pizza Party has the better Venice Bakery crust.
