Sheila Wagner. You can google her name for info. Her office is in Larkspur. Not inexpensive; but extremely knowledgeable. Good luck. Batavia

I live in San Francisco and have Kaiser insurance so if you've worked with someone great, please let me know. I'm open to paying someone private and traveling if needed. Thanks much!~

I want to make a chocolate macadamia tart for Thanksgiving but the recipe I've used in the past has flour in the crust. The crust tasts like a shortbread cookie so I was thinking of using Bob' Red Mill GF shortbread cookie mix to make the crust.Has anyone ever done that? Any feedback/alternative recipes would be much appreciated!Thank you!Barbara

Since you have Kaiser, I would start with whomever your gastroenterologist connects you with there. Kaiser is very, very good about health education and has nutritionists in all of its larger facilities. At Kaiser Santa Clara I know that nutritionist Barbara Dodson has a specialty in working with celiac patients. The following listing about her is from the Registered Dietitians page for the Santa Clara facility: http://www.permanente.net/homepage/kaiser/pages/f54792.html

Barbara Dodson, MS,RD,ILBC

General Pediatric Nutrition

Pediatric Nutrition Specialty: Celiac, Gastrointestinal, Weight Management

Adult Nutrition Specialty: Celiac

Contact Number: (408) 851-9898

I'm sure that Kaiser SF's Nutrition Clinic at the 2241 Geary Blvd. facility (Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 415-833-3862) would have someone with the same expertise and focus. The general Health Education number is 415-833-3450.
