Went shopping this morning at Safeway (Almaden Expressway near Branham Lane) in

San and squealed a bit with excitement when I spotted two g-f items.

First, finally a g-f frozen mainstream item that is Asian flavored! It is a

frozen main dish item clearly marked Gluten Free on the front and made by a

company called Contessa. The name of the product is Sesame Chicken, and it

looks so good with chicken, rice, broccoli and peppers. It is packaged in one

of those bags that frozen main dishes come in. Contessa has other frozen main

dishes that are not marked gluten free - this is the only favor. I'm sure this

g-f product is made in a facility that manufacturers the other non g-f frozen

main dishes. Just wanted to mention this in case you have a concern about

cross-contact.

I also spotted the g-f Bisquick at Safeway and was excited until I saw the price

- $6.99 for one box! That is just way too much money to pay for a box of g-f

Bisquick that weighs about half of a regular box of Bisquick. Gluten free

Bisquick is also available at the Nob Hill Market on Snell Avenue and Santa

in San for $4.99 a box. There were about 10 boxes on the shelf as

of this morning if you haven't found it yet. This store also sells Udi bread

and muffins in the Natural Food frozen section in the store. I talked with the

manager and they are trying to also get in the g-f Hamburger Helper.

Hope this helps!

Sue
