Guest guest
Jodi: I've got to admit, I'm a little skeptical. Maybe they do work to remove toxins from the body, but toxins aren't the problem for most of us in this Group. Toxins aren't causing our imbalances, misalignments and deteriorating cartilage. Pain meds may make your knees feel better too, but they don't get to the root of your problem. Now that I think about it, maybe the foot patches are simply trans-dermal drug-delivery systems. In effect, you are taking pain meds so you feel better. Or maybe they are a miracle cure. Keep us up to date. Take care, Doug P.S. - I don't think you are a quack or a flake! > > Interesting. Guest guest
I know, I'm completely skeptical, too. But as I've mentioned, in Acupuncture & Chinese Medecine, the organs are connected to specific parts of our body. They also do believe that despite mechanical problems like alignment, pain is almost always caused by toxins or organs not working to their full capacity. So if we go with the theory that the kidneys do control our knees, the patch placed over the ball of the foot (which is the corresponding " kidney point " on the foot) will supposedly draw toxins from the kidneys, allowing them to function properly. The ingredients & product information on the patches make no mention of pain killers, so unless they're completely lying (which I doubt) that's not it. I know it sounds wacky & I'm really hesitant to buy it myself, but I have to say that this has been my best knee week in 6 months, and I haven't been taking any pain meds or anything! Anyway, it's strange, but I won't complain as long as it keeps working! Their website is actually very interesting, if anyone wants to check it out. Best, Jodi > > > Interesting. Guest guest
Keep us posted on the foot patch/knee pain relationship. The Chinese were right about acupuncture. Guest guest
> It's amazing how the perception of pain is affected by what we are thinking, even " real pain " caused by real injuries. I think there is something else which is the reverse of the placebo effect also--where things happen that makes the pain feel worse then it " should. " I agree with this. RIGHT after I got the CP/torn meniscus diagnosis, the pain got WAY worse. It really makes me mad at myself for being so gullible. > Ann
Guest guest
I wouldn't go around beating yourself up about it.....more than not, once you have a name of what is wrong with you, or even a better understanding of what is wrong....it's not that it necessarily hurts any more.....but you are mentally more aware of it...... an idea of this.....if your knee hurts today, and it is really bad, tomorrow your hip starts hurting, your thoughts are now more on your hip, therefore, your knee doesn't feel as bad as you were thinking it did. That's where the saying came from " It's mind over matter " Mona Re: Foot Patches > It's amazing how the perception of pain is affected by what we are thinking, even " real pain " caused by real injuries.
