Guest guest
To whom it may concern: My girlfriend's son received an e-mail update from you today. The update provided a link to an animated movie entitled " See the Strange Dancing Midget. " (www.send4fun.com/midget.cfm) I realize this is probably an e-mail sent to a long list of people, and it was not specifically directed at him. However, it so happens that I have SED, a form of dwarfism, and I do not enjoy having to explain to him that there are people who find the notion of kicking a can with a little person inside to be funny. I find most of your animated shorts to be quite entertaining. In fact, I have personally referred many people to some of your pages, and they also enjoy them. However, I find absolutely no entertainment value in seeing a tiny person dancing in a can while pictures of the Pillsbury Doughboy, Mini-Me, and Dr. Ruth Westheimer pop up over the words " Dance with a midget, cause they're closer to the ground! " First and foremost, the word " midget " is offensive to people with dwarfism. The terms " dwarf, " " short-statured, " or " little person " are preferred. Second, Dr. Ruth and Tom Cruise could hardly be considered dwarfs. The generally-accepted cutoff for being considered a dwarf is 4'10 " , and as such, this is the height limit for full membership in Little People of America (LPA), a support/advocacy organization for people with dwarfism. Third, please be advised that I am bringing this animation to the attention of the members of LPA, and I expect that they will be in touch with you as well. I ask you to please remove this alleged piece of " entertainment " from your website. Sincerely, J. Dybala
