Guest guest
In the AARP magazine I saw an ad for vitacost.com that noted that they had GF foods in addition to their other products. I went to the web site and looked at the Gluten Free Food pages (http://www.vitacost.com/Gluten-Free-Food). They indicate that they have 713 GF food products, most of which seem to be brands of GF foods we are familiar with (e.g.: Erewhon, San-J, Glutino, Ener-G, Bob's Red Mill, Amy's, etc.). The discounts also seem to be pretty good, and there currently is free shipping on orders over $79.I have not, though, ever dealt with this company before. Has anybody purchased GF products from them, and, if so, what was your experience? Thanks, HogleFreelance academic librarianInstructor, online researchEmail: jjhogle@...Web: (under de- and re-construction) www.blueroom.comReality ain't what you think it isArt Graphics & Photographs[http://www.blueroom.com/realityaint.htm]
Guest guest
I use vitacost all the time for household cleaning supplies, vitamins, supplements, beauty products, etc. The company is great. They are out of Nevada, I think, so your package comes within a couple days. I've never purchased gf food from them, because I tend to stock up on coupon day at Rainbow grocery or know certain items are cheaper elsewhere (ie: rice noodles at Trader Joe's...). But I mean, it's the brands you'd be purchasing anyway, so shouldn't be a problem. But as I alluded just prior, be sure to price compare, I've noticed many times that it seems like you're getting a deal for their listed items online or in their catalog, like it may say 48% off, but really the retail price listed is much higher than at most markets, so the deal isn't as appealing. Another bonus though, is shipping is always $3.99, so real cheap. I definitely recommend them. Guest guest
Thanks, Sara. As you note, comparing prices is important, but some of the items that we buy (such as the San-J products) are definitely cheaper than the local stores, especially Whole Paycheck. Thinking of the wonderful Rainbow Grocery, though, they have San-J's GF tamari/soy sauce IN BULK. Bring your own bottle.
