Guest guest
The fried themselves are gluten free but you need to make sure they are fried in a dedicated french fry fryer and that they don't use the same fryer for the onion rings, etc.... They are supposed to have a dedicated french fry fryer but I would make sure. I have had their fried with no problems, but I always ask the manager before ordering. Guest guest
I checked online and looked at Burger King’s “Gluten Sensitive List.” It comes with this warning:Actual gluten content may vary depending upon the supplier, product handling, and each restaurant’s food preparation practices Fries are on the list, but have this warning: *These products may be fried with gluten-containing foods. And a further warning in very tiny letters at the bottom:The Gluten-Sensitive List is not intended for people with severe gluten intolerance. The information on the Gluten-Sensitive List is based on suppliers’ ingredient lists and is as complete as possible at the time of publication (May 2010). However, actual gluten content of these foods and ingredients may vary, depending upon the supplier, product handling, and each restaurant’s food preparation practices. Burger King Corporation, its franchisees, and employees, do not assume responsibility for a person’s sensitivity or allergy to any food item provided in our restaurants. Please always consult your healthcare practitioner for questions regarding your diet. We encourage anyone with food sensitivities, allergies or special dietary needs to communicate any specific food handling requirements to the server or restaurant manager and to check www.bk.com on a regular basis to obtain the most up-to-date information about our food before you order. Apparently there is some variance among restaurants as to how they use their fryers. So individual franchises may have different practices. According to some accounts online, some use dedicated fryers, others don’t, and others may sometimes mix different foods in the fryers on occasion. So it sounds like Burger King is dipping a very tentative toe in the gluten-free waters. You’ll have to make a decision based on your own situation and degree of sensitivity. Or maybe look around for an In and Out or a ’s.
