Microwave heating: not all materials can be heated using

microwave - heat is generated by micro-wave only if something

within the material (to be heated) is excited by micro-wave,

the exitation or viberation causing heat. There are materials

that are so stable (no loose bonds in atomic structural and

composition) can not be exited by micro-wave (because nothing

is loose to viberate) meaning these materials don't get hot

no matter how much micro-wave power is applied.

Well, believe it or not coconut oil/virgin coconut oil will

be heated when you put it in microwave oven because of the

water (moisture content) is excited by micro-wave causing heat

which heats up the coconut oil and if the heat is too high

the oil might get burned, however when all water is gone

the coconut oil would not be heated at all (if it is not burned yet).

The point is pure coconut oil (or virgin) would not be

heated by micro-wave, another way of saying:

if you place the pure coconut oil (0% of moisture/impurity)

and outside or inside of an running microwave oven there is

absolutely nothing changed. The impurities causing the oil to

heat up but not the pure coconut oil itself.

The best and the healthiest " popcorn " is popcorn with

virgin coconut oil ... guess what! ... microwaving it just

like any other microwave popcorn.

So, can you heat VCO with microwave? why not as long as you

don't leave it in there for too long (just like anything else)

Re: Nausea and Other Side-Effects

Also, I was melting it in the microwave to liquefy it, but then read

somewhere that microwaving it is a no-no. Does anyone know why?

I melt it by keeping it on top of my refrigerator.

I won't heat anything in a microwave.
