I'd just like to add a positive review for The Fish Market. My favorite place to eat when my husband and I don't have the little one with us.From: jtteelme <jtteelme@...>Subject: [ ] Great experience at the Fish Market, Top of the Market Date: Friday, January 14, 2011, 1:07 PM

I wanted to share a great experience I had the other night at the San Mateo Fish Market, Top of the Market.

When I arrived I checked the menu and found there seemed to be a lot of naturally gluten free options but checked with the waiter to be sure. The waiter wasn't positive about the choices I made but happily agreed to check for me. Moments later the manager was at my table asking about the gluten allergy and when I explained it was Celiac he got a knowing look in his eye and assured me that my choices were indeed naturally gf. The next thing I knew he had taken all my silver ware and replaced it for me and was talking with the chefs (it is an open kitchen so I could clearly see the conversation happening) to ensure my food was safely prepared.

The manager took fantastic care of me and ensured every aspect of my meal was safe. He very clearly knew what to do with a gluten problem and ensured that my experience was positive and relaxing. We asked him about his obvious knowledge on the subject and he said he used to work in the Palo Alto Fish Market and had an entire family that had Celiac and that they came in on a regular basis. My grateful thanks to that family and the manager that cared enough to learn how to take care of us.
