I am in the process of reading Sally Fallon and Enig¹s book, which

discusses Coconut Oil quite a lot, called, ³Eat Fat, Lose Fat².

Here are a couple of relevant quotes pertaining to ¹s recent

question.

(I know we¹ve probably said this before relative to her situation....but

just thought I would post it again, since I coudn¹t really remember. I

recall reading the same thing in Dr. Bruce Fife¹s book.)

³While longer-chain fatty acids, found in many foods, need to be digested by

bile salts (screted by the gall-baldder), coconut¹s medium-chain fatty acids

do not. That¹s why if you have trouble digesting fats, or are beginning to

reintroduce fat to your diet, it¹s best to begin with coconut oil.² p.48

So when you brought up your situation , I remembered this from Dr.

Fife¹s book and it puzzled me. I believe you though, I just can¹t explain

what you body is doing or why.

In my own personal experience, well, my mom fed me (and the rest of the

family) extremely low fat growing up. When I was about 20, I ate buttered

popcorn and became very ill.(this is probably the first time I¹d had

buttered popcorn, since my mom did not make it.) I didn¹t realize it had

anythign to do with the popcorn. But ever after that, for many many years, I

would throw up if I tried to eat popcorn and occasionally, but only VERY

occasionally other greasy foods.(but I probably didn¹t eat greasy foods

often either, or much of them if I did) I was very thin during all this time

and I didn't know a lot of what I do now. At the time I had no idea this

might be gall bladder related. Later in life, I wondered that. I can eat

pretty much anything just fine now, far as I know, from experimenting a few

years back. Coconut oil definitely digests just fine for me and I often have

ingested large quantities at one time.
