For every person you ask, you will (unfortunately) get a different answer, because gluten affects everyone differently. For me, I might feel it immediately or not until the next day - I don't know why that is. And I'm not always sure I'm reacting to gluten or to something else (though when I experience bone ache and fogginess, I am fairly certain it's because of gluten, since I've never had a reaction like that to anything else that I know of...).

I'm sorry your daughter got glutened and I hope you are able to pin it down. It's so hard not knowing.

Last night I think (based on behavior) that my daughter may have gotten some gluten. Trying to think back over her day I can't really figure out what it was. But I realized I should ask other people that can say what it feels like how long it usually takes to get the effect of ingesting gluten?

I usually feel it the next day and my reaction is achiness andthe feeling of having the life sucked out of me.  It’s not intestinaldistress.  I wind up just “sleeping it off†or sleeping through it.  Only oncedid I have a severe reaction and it was 3 hours later after ingestion.  I atehalf a bag of jelly beans I thought were safe, later that night I had chills,sweats, nausea…pretty much felt like the flu and put me out of commish for afew days.  I read the bag the next day and totally glutened myself.  I also hadno reaction after eating a ¼ piece of wheat bread.  I asked for wheat free andassumed it’s what I got.  I took one bite and was like, wait a minute…I neverfelt an outward reaction to that incident though.  I know someone who will throw-upwithin a half hour.  As stated below, the timing and symptoms are different foreveryone.
