Guest guest
Hi All, I just wanted to share with you a really amazing experience I had at Zin Restaurant in Healdsberg a couple weeks ago. When making the reservation I explained my celiac disease and asked if it would be possible to accommodate my needs. Of course, like many places the response on the phone was " Yes, no problem " . I was nervous to try this place, seeing as I couldn't find any reviews on gluten-free here. Well- I had the best experience eating out I have had anywhere (except possibly places in Colorado or Seattle where everyone knows about gluten). My server was incredibly knowledgable. She even knew that blue cheese was " controversial " in terms of gluten-content and pointed out to me the item on the menu that had it. She knew exactly what modifications could be made to which dishes to make it gluten-free. In the end I had steak with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. They omitted bread crumbs on the potatoes and a sauce for the steak. I highly reccomend this place. It may have just been the wonderful server I had- so if you go and the server doesn't seem to have the right answers, I would ask for the manager. As always, eating out is taking a chance but I thought I'd share my experience.
