Guest guest
I used to drink a lot more coffee than I do now. I cut way back by filling my 2-3 cups a day with 1/2 skim milk and 1/2 coffee and using sucralose for sweetner. Cut my coffee consumption in half that way. If I were you, I would definitely sub green tea for some of that coffee. on 3/1/2004 9:29 PM, mensacyclist at mensacyclist@... wrote: > Periodic sugar cravings and binges are the only thing that keep me > from being a good CRONie. Guest guest
My caffeine use helps me contain cravings perhaps, but I can do without any caffeine if I want. I just find it a useful source of extra potassium, with low sodium, no artificial sweetener, no artificial or natural flavorings added, no artificial or natural coloring added. I'm sure aspartame, whatever comes out in urine and I instinctively don't like that. I think that rules out every drink except water and water with lemon and I can only drink just so much water. Periodic sugar cravings and binges are the only thing that keep me from being a good CRONie. The only thing I can lay blame on would be my massive caffeine consumption. On a bad day I might take in 1200-1500 mg of caffeine. I've quit smoking and alcohol but caffeine seems to be the hardest to kick. I'm wondering if moderation might be the answer. I know I can get by on 4-6 green teas a day which provides a meager 200 mg of caffeine +/-. Has anyone else noticed caffeine use having an effect on appetite/cravings?
