Guest guest
Last night I watched a re-run of the story of the Carpenters. Those of you who are 'of an age " will remember the famous young star Carpenter who tragically died of anorexia at the young age of 32. Tragically, there wasn't much knowledge back then (late 70's early 80's) about food disorders. Interestingly, those around her noticed her alarming thinness and warned her/argued with her and of course (so often as part of the disease) she just became angry at those who tried to get through to her and didn't listen. If you have a BMI under 18 (which is the BMI of most ultra-thin high fashion models according to Walford) I'd be extra careful. Better to gain 3 or 5 pounds than slide down that slippery slope. High fashion models btw may look nice and skinny, but many of them have food disorders and are otherwise all screwed up in the head. In their case at least, they're getting good financial compensation for such compromises to their health.
