Guest guest
No plastics....yet! I've used retin-A (the active ingredient in Renova) and tazarotene (a retinoid that has shown anti-wrinke/anti-dermatoheliosis effects similar to those shown by retin-A) for over 10 years, regularly. >From: " bernadettepawlik " <bernadettepawlik@...> >Reply- > >Subject: [ ] Ah,v anity! >Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2004 18:25:34 -0000 > >Just wondering if in addition to CR, others have used any " anti-aging " >cosmetics (e.g., Renova) or has had plastic surgery. >
Guest guest
i have very few wrinkles and very good skin and look pretty good for a grandma in her early 60's. But I'm beginning to get " jowls " etc. Short of a surgical face life, does anyone have any recommendations for something non-evasive? I know they're doing wonderful things with radio waves and other such procedures. on 2/23/2004 1:48 PM, Dowling at dowlic@... wrote: > No plastics....yet! > > I've used retin-A (the active ingredient in Renova) and tazarotene (a > retinoid that has shown anti-wrinke/anti-dermatoheliosis effects similar to > those shown by retin-A) for over 10 years, regularly. > > >> From: " bernadettepawlik " <bernadettepawlik@...> >> Reply- >> >> Subject: [ ] Ah,v anity! >> Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2004 18:25:34 -0000 >> >> Just wondering if in addition to CR, others have used any " anti-aging " >> cosmetics (e.g., Renova) or has had plastic surgery. Guest guest
Thermage Treatments Another new tool on the forefront of cosmetic technology uses radio frequency energy. Developed by Thermage, the ThermaCool TC device is not a laser but functions in a similar capacity as it delivers carefully controlled heat into the deeper layers of the skin. The outer layer is protected by a cooling spray in a noninvasive procedure that is completed in an hour or less. The heat causes tightening of loose skin, which smoothes out wrinkles. New collagen fibers are then produced over time, and while the technology is still relatively new, preliminary findings show that results can last up to 18 months. Though undergoing the Thermage procedure can produce very satisfactory results as an alternative to surgical procedures, more than one treatment may be necessary, and its long-term success depends on the natural aging process of the patient. Thermage can be combined with other facial cosmetic procedures, such as Botox, to achieve desired results. For patients who are just beginning to notice signs of aging, another option may be ThermaLift, which is essentially a new application of the Thermage technique that tightens the skin of the neck and face with RF technology. New York-based dermatologic surgeon Goldberg has been using the technique mostly to treat drooping jowls. “There is no other way to tighten jowls, outside of surgery,” he says. “It’s almost unbelievable. It’s totally noninvasive, it’s a 10-minute procedure and it promotes tightening of the jowls, although certainly not as much as surgery. We can do this procedure on their jowls or eyelids before the drooping gets too far advanced >From: Francesca Skelton <fskelton@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: [ ] Ah,v anity! >Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2004 14:16:59 -0500 > > i have very few wrinkles and very good skin and look pretty good for a >grandma in her early 60's. Guest guest
I just bought some Neutrogena " healthy skin " products containing Retinol and Alpha-Hydroxy Acid as I'm beginning to get fine lines around my eyes. Do you think creams containing these and similar ingredients really work better at reducing wrinkles than other (cheaper) creams? Thanks, Shanna > No plastics....yet! > > I've used retin-A (the active ingredient in Renova) and tazarotene (a > retinoid that has shown anti-wrinke/anti-dermatoheliosis effects similar to > those shown by retin-A) for over 10 years, regularly. > > > >From: " bernadettepawlik " <bernadettepawlik@c...> > >Reply- > > > >Subject: [ ] Ah,v anity! > >Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2004 18:25:34 -0000 > > > >Just wondering if in addition to CR, others have used any " anti- aging " > >cosmetics (e.g., Renova) or has had plastic surgery. > >
