Rub into your scalp and hair before bed and wash out in the morning. You can

work it into your hair an hour or so before you wash it but it really helps to

leave it in over night. It absorbs really well and I have never had a problem

with staining my pillow cases.

My husband started to get a flakey scalp last summer. He's diabetic

and I figured it must be yeast or something like that. I had him

massage coconut oil into his scalp about an hour before he washed his

hair and that took care of it.

I don't have dry hair, but I've started using just a few drops of

coconut oil (my hair is short) rubbed into my hair as a conditioner

after washing. It's nice. Give it a try and see if it helps your dry

hair.

i have used coconut oil only once or twice so far, and i love it and

will continue using it. i rub in 2-3 Tblsps. very well into scalp and

let it set for at least 30 minutes, and then wash normally. my hair

has been coarse and dry for the last few years due to hypothyroidism,

and just in the short while i have been using the oil it has already

helped, and i am going to use this forever!!! hope this helps. anita

In response to the post about hair and scalp. Every Sunday night for

the past year I take a shower, and with my hair towel-dried, I drench

it with about 3-4 teaspoons of coconut oil and then wrap my hair

(mostly to keep the oil from getting into my pillowcases). Then Monday

mornings I wash it out. My hair is strong, soft, and shiny. My

stylist says that my hair is the best condition she has ever seen hair -

and I love the way it feels! My color seems to last longer too.

Yes, that's a great idea. I remember my parents and grandparents here in the

Philippines using a product called " cebo de macho " for eliminating scars. It

contains coconut oil and petrolatum as base. Somewhat crude and inadequately

packed and labelled, but it works on both new and old scars. Right now, there

are improved version in the market containing VCO, and uses Beeswax as base.

thank you to the person (can't find her post) who gave me the idea to

massage some VCO into my scalp and hair and leave it overnight. i did

it last night and am very pleasantly surprised at how calm my scalp

feels and how nice my hair looks.

now i'm going to try it on my surgery scars, some old some new that

are pinkish.

Rupert,

Yes, i remember cebo de macho and it really helped

remove scars. My sis-in-law had a nasty brown scar on

her arm and i told her to use vco on it and in a month

or so, the scar vanished without a trace, no

discoloration either.
