Guest guest
Hi folks: If will tolerate just one more post on my supplements issue (!) I have just calculated how many ounces of oysters I would need to consume, if I want to raise my zinc consumption to 125% of the RDA, by eating the oyster 'supplement' weekly. The answer(s) (using data from Bowes & Church's) appears to be as follows: If it is in the form of wild atlantic oysters then I need 2.3 oz per week; if in the form of farmed atlantic oysters .... 5.3 oz; and if in the form of pacific oysters .............. 12.2 oz. Better know where yer oysters come from. Rodney.
