Guest guest
From the American Hospitals Association e-newsletter: 1) New law helps disabled stay on Medicare when they work President Clinton today signed into law today a bill that will keep providing government-funded health coverage to disabled Americans when they get a job. The vast majority of America's 9 million disabled adults now don't return to the work force because the paychecks would wipe out their eligibility for vital Medicare and Medicaid benefits. The so-called Ticket to Work act signed today extends the time current Social Security Disability Income recipients can get Medicaid coverage after they go to work. It also expands state options to provide Medicaid to workers with disabilities. I'll be happy to find out further details if anyone is interested - how long the benefits can continue, etc. Just email me privately. This should be very helpful for the folks in the dwarf community (among many others) who aren't working because they might lose their disability if they get a job.
