I think the most telling study showed simply that unsaturated oils

shorten the lifespan of long-lived mammals:

Low fatty acid unsaturation: a mechanism for lowered lipoperoxidative

modification of tissue proteins in mammalian species with long life

The more unsaturated oil in the diet, the more oxidative damage and

the more one's lifespan is reduced. If I was ignorant of this data I'd

be less in a position to think for myself and use these oils

sparingly.
