I really hate to rain on your parade, but my feeling is

you would do and say anything to improve your sales

of ANH-VCO.

testa and haustorium

hi everyone,

please do not confuse testa with haustorium. Testa is the thin brown covering of

the coconut meat and is part of it. haustorium is the growth inside the coconut.

haustorium is said to be the most perfect food.

There sure seems to be a lot of " tension " this week. I am not sure whats

going on.

But I enjoy most the posts here, Tess's included. Lots of information from

lots of people...usually.

I would hate to lose anyone because of all this nit picking.

I have been learning a lot from just reading, and I thank everyone who has

answered my questions.

Tess, are you talking about the growth which is when the coconut starts

to germinate and it a small growth that looks like a small white ball?

Ive seen this inside a coconut once.

I thought a haustorium was a parisitic growth,but I might be wrong.

AND i dont know how talking about a haustorium could improve sales ??

Tess was merely sharing what she knows !

Tan ,

I dont know why you are being so disrespectful to Tess. Please stop being

contenscious . We have never had any negative feedback from any of Tess's

customers here at the group. We are very pleased with Tess for being so open and

informative about her product. If the customer is not happy with the ANH_VCO no

mater what she claims the customers will not reorder.Tess has been a valuable

contributor to this group for many years and I have not found her messages to be

decietful in any way.Her contributions to the coconut oil community and her

willingness to share the processs with her countrymen show us her benevolent

intent. She is known and respected by the Philipine Coconut Authority . She has

credibility here.

Certainly if you have a coconut oil which you would like to tell us about and

feel it is superior you are welcome to expound its virtues. We don't like to get

spammed , but conversations and explanations as to an oils virtues are the kind

of education consumers seek at this group.

The little white ball attached to the inside of the

coconut is the haustorium as Tess kindly corrected me.

However, I didn't know it is a complete food. This is

good news to me.

Is the Haustorium part of the germination cycle of the coconut. I have had a

couple with what appears to be a small ball attached inside when I crack

open the coconut. One was about I inch in diameter and the other about 1.5

inches. You say this is good to eat? I threw it away.

Cheers, Doug

There used to be a coconut plant " ling Baker " in

my husband's hometown of San Pablo City, Philippines,

and an employee used to bring so many of the tiny

(young) haustorium home and we all used to eat it. It

kinda taste like soap really.
