Guest guest
Okay .. you have all been so very helpful in regards to what and how you use your WPI. I purchased and received my NOW Foods Whey Protein Isolate this week. First I discovered that I purchased the wrong " kind " . It is vanilla and I really wanted/needed the natural/unflavored whey. Since I ordered the whey protein isolate, I remembered (found my blood test paperwork from two years ago) that I am casein sensitive. My casein/cow milk IGG test reflected 25.6 (reference range = less than 2.0) So, I am assuming that " 25.6 " is considered on the " high " side .. ? (Not sure why I didn't " realize/think " of this before I ordered the whey?) I have been asking Duncan many questions in regards to whey and he has been very patient and very helpful. He commented that maybe the NOW Whey protein isolate would not affect my casein sensitivity. Also mentioned that maybe I would want to try a Whey product called Immunocal. I checked it out and I can't afford the Immunocal at $125. I have been doing quite a few searches for " dairy free " or " casein free " Whey protein isolates without much success. There are some of those products out there, but don't feel comfortable with just ordering a product (out of the blue) without a personal recommendation. NOW's WPI typical amino acid profile seems to be so much better than all of the other products I have been looking at this afternoon. So .. I guess my questions are: Does anyone here have a casein sensitivity, such as mine, and are successful with taking a NOW Whey Protein Isolate (or something similar)? If you have purchased what is defined as " dairy free " or " casein free " Whey Protein Isolate, do you believe it is comparable with NOW food's brand .. with that being so high in their amino acids .. ? Thank you in advance for any personal experiences/recommendations in regards to the WPI. ~Glo
