Guest guest
Hello. I am writing this to a couple of the groups I am on because I don't fit exactly in one of them, but could use suggestions. I am female, almost 44, 5'1 " , 117# after dropping 72 pounds since August. I weigh every morning and stay within 2# of my final dieting weight. My diet consists almost exclusively of meats/organs (mostly steaks, pork, chicken, beef heart, gizzards) not totally raw but warmed up from the fridge on a Foreman grill for about 30 seconds, so it's still red, bloody, etc. I make my own beef jerky and pork cracklin (just plain, no additives) and eat a ton of coconut oil (3-4tbs a day usually) and sometimes plain butter and no-carb cheese like mozzarella. Currently only eating grilled onions or apples as carbs, and not even daily. Drink at least half a gallon of water/green tea a day. My F:P:C ratio according to the website I track on is usually 65:30:5 to about 70:30:0. Obviously I am following a high fat, med-high protein, very low carb diet. I'd like to try 80%+ fat (by reducing protein and adding more coconut oil) to see if I can drop another 5#. We will be going to the most unhealthy place around Las Vegas for 9 days. I am playing in two World Series of Poker events. This is my first vacation since changing my eating so drastically. We are flying and staying in a major hotel on the Strip and will have public transportation but no car. The bulk of the time will be spent playing poker. Apparently this is an Albertson's and a Von's about two miles from our hotel. If we have any refrigeration, it will be one of those small hotel fridges. Sticking with the water/green tea is easy enough (I put tea bags in water bottles and let them naturally " brew " !) Because we are flying I can't pack much but I want to take my coconut oil with me. I though I could put it in small bottles like water bottles or squeeze bottles, put those in freezer bags then pack. We don't go out to eat much at home now but will have to on the trip. The only thing that has been " safe " enough for me has been to either order a cheeseburger or other burger without the bun (fast food) or a plain big steak as rare as they will allow (restaurant). Are there any other travel-friendly paleo/raw paleo/high fat items that I should consider? My husband still eats the SAD so this is just for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated, esp. from any Vegas-philes. Blessings, Trisha in Nashville
Guest guest
Dont take the cc oil or freezer packs as carry ons or they will take them away from you. You can only do it, in your packed luggage and even then the freezer things are iffy. Trisha Webb <trisha@...> wrote: Hello. Guest guest
I travel all the time with my coconut oil - I put in a bottle with a very tight fitting lid and then I put it in a zip lock just in case......so far so good. Can you eat raw nuts on your diet??? I usually travel with them as well. SeaLady
