Just a quick note - when a student with a disability is out for an extended

period due to their disability, the public school district is obligated to

have a team discuss and decide based on all the information at hand, whether

the student needs tutoring and/or any other services, and if so, how much.

If the answer is no, then the parents have to be told of their right to

appeal the decision through due process under special ed law or Section 504,

whichever is applicable.

If you are dealing with special ed and IEP's, our sister agency, US Dept.

Education/Office for Special Education, has a comprehensive IEP guide on

their web site.
