Guest guest
Hi Lauretta, No, I have not had that experience, but I can certainly understand how this could happen, I have heard of others who had more than a molar removed trying to remove pain caused from Lyme disease. Thanks so much for sharing, you may have saved someone else on this list from unnecessary dental surgery. You know, as lousy as I feel from this disease. I am so grateful that I was aware of my tick bite and bullseye rash, and was able to connect each new symptom to Lyme disease, if not, I figure I would have had at least three surgeries by now. Guest guest
Oh I don’t know. Sorry to open a can of worms, but I hardly think it’s so simple. I’ll bet there are hundreds of lurkers here who wish they could reduce the calories simply by refusing to bring them into the home. But for most of us, that isn’t a realistic expectation. I’m going out on a limb and suggesting that CRON dieters who intend to hold the course must do so internally. If the forbidden foods are already in the house, the decision to eat is yours to make. Period. That’s it. -----Original Message----- From: Francesca Skelton [mailto:fskelton@...] Sent: Friday, February 13, 2004 11:07 AM support group Subject: [ ] true confessions On a routine trip to Whole foods/Fresh fields, I sinned. Guest guest
Hi Fran, I don't think of it as sinning. I just factor the caloric cost into my spreadsheet. I have lots of things "around", that I don't eat, or don't eat to excess. It may turn out that greens cause cancer some day. Actually, I find most of the "treats" are way to sweet, and of poor quality - almost all are made with corn syrup. Like hershey's baking choc is plenty sweet. Regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: Francesca Skelton support group Sent: Friday, February 13, 2004 1:06 PM Subject: [ ] true confessions On a routine trip to Whole foods/Fresh fields, I sinned. Guest guest
I have one as well: One meal a week I allow myself a " planned indulgence " . Earlier in my weight watching days, that planned meal could be a full blow-out...a full entree and dessert (and don't forget some yummy, nutritionally empty white bread.) As my nutritional knowledge increased and I became more accustomed to a diet heavy in fruits/veggies, grains, lean proteins..that planned indulgence became less indulgent. Now, my once weekly " big blow-out " is peanut butter on a whole grain bagel. I subscribe to the theory that forbidden fruit is always more enticing. Enjoy the taste of those cookies and remember as a wise woman has said: Moderation, moderation, moderation.
Guest guest
once my taste buds get triggered even by one taste, all they want is MORE MORE MORE. then it takes 5-7 days to neutralize them again by white knuckling it. for me it's all about chemistry. best i just stick to my fruits and veggies.....then try to find treats of a non-food nature. sadly and gladly, fruitgirl <<I subscribe to the theory that forbidden fruit is always more enticing.
