writes: Anyone have any luck reducing tumor size through CR or every other day CR?

Hi , I have a very dear friend with an large brain tumor, malignant, deep her brain matter. She had an initial unsuccessful surgery, they were unable to remove it and she was paralyzed on one side, BUT....she is 37 and has lived with it for 7 years now. In the beginning of her diagnosis she did a dramatic nutrition regimen and was macrobiotic AND low calorie. Her lowest weight was about 85 lbs. Her tumor did not grow for quite a long time during the couple of years she ate this way. That was good news. However, she was sickly for other reasons because of the drastic way she was eating and it was determined to get her weight up by any mean necessary. She weighs about 100 lbs now, in her 7th year of battling this, has had a tumor reduction surgery (they were able finally to remove half of it) and has just finished another year of chemo successfully. She is a walking miracle in my opinion and I believe that her drastic measures early in her diagnosis may have helped her in managing her cancer. She eats a variety of foods now, and her favorite is giant German pancakes with powdered sugar, lemon and butter. She eats the whole thing. Her prognosis is guarded but dramatically improved from 7 yrs ago. She walks all over town every day and is active in volunteer activities. kim

Without strict experiments, how would one know what it is that has reduced

tumor size? I do have one anecdote. A family friend, a young woman, with

metatisized breast cancer is trying a CRON diet. Her tumors have stopped

growing (for the time being anyway). She is also under conventional medical

treatment. Therefore the reason why is not certain. Whatever it is, we

hope the situation continues.

While I am very reluctant to give specific advice regarding life threatening

situations. There is a great deal of mouse research into CR and tumor

growth. While there is always the debate about applicability of mouse

research to humans.. that is where all the CR stuff started so... " in for

dime in for dollar " .

Good luck to all struggling with health issues, and good luck to those who

aren't.
