Personal experiences with BMI

Just to toss this in:

The BMI is definitely not perfect.

A few years ago when I worked out intensely, my weight was 145 and my

bodyfat (as measured by a submersion measure...which is the most

accurate) was 14%...that of an athlete.

A few years before that..when my idea of a work-out was walking to the

refrigerator, my weight was 135, but my bodyfat was 32%.

BMI, in my opinion, is a compromise measure of health. Fully accurate

measures of bodyfat (submersion methods) are expensive and cumbersome.

Simple weight/height calculations are doable in any doctor's office.
