Guest guest
I always try to press on the full moon. Brings out the werewolf in me. Hehehe Hmm.... let me see now..what do I use to press with, well I guess that depends on what I am pressing. For this, because it is small, I will use a Slovenian potatoe squishing device which I believe is akin to a ricer. It is like a garlic press on steroids. Works really well but I have yet to get the max liquid out of it. I also have a miniture sized apple press, just like the big ones only this one went through the dryer. Shrunk it right up. But I haven't had occasion to use this yet as most of what I have right now is powdered and I don't think it will work too well in it. This press will work really well for pressing out the whole herbs though. Course if I could find a bottle jack and some steel I could weld me up a nice press as I already have the welder. So I guess for now that is all I have to press with other than my own two hands. Okay, what are you using to press with? Guest guest
My pressing method is somewhat more technically complex. I take an old cotton shirt and cut it up, pour my formula in the shirt (over a bowl) and squeeze the hell out of it... ..... fyi, I need to get something and I just wanted to know what you use...I need to do some reseach on these and then maybe I could find a used one somewhere.... -----Original Message----- From: Don Quai [mailto:mysticalherbalist@...] Sent: Thu 5/13/2004 1:44 PM health Cc: Subject: Re: Herbal mouthwash I always try to press on the full moon. Guest guest
LOL, I too have been there but I used a sock instead. Hehehe Hey it was new and unused at the time, 100% cotton. It worked moderately well. Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. What I was responding to was that if I were pouring herbs and alcohol through a fabric I'd want to be sure the fabric was unbleached and un-dyed clean- without laundry or cleanser residues. The tea shirt may or may not meet that criteria and it may have simply been the best option in a pinch. Cheesecloth works well and can be sewn into a bag that makes it easier. Are there any asian markets where you are? I have found some great devices there too. You just want a really fine mesh and untreated if possible- make sense? Whole Life Essentials. Well whats wrong with it? Guess just colours in the fabric? I used a cotton tea towel once or twice and now I have some muslin cloth from the fabric shop, is this OK? This is only a little country and so far I have never seen or heard of a sprouter bag! Persian
