Guest guest
I live in Canada - we found a great little item called " The Toilet seat " . It is actually a seat within a seat. There is the normal sized seat we all use, then you pull down a smaller size seat (the same way you would pull down the lid). Then there is the lid. It works great for Jess (4 yrs old) and I'm sure it would work great for any kid learning to use the toilet. It installs just like a normal seat, just take off your old one and put this one on. The smaller seat can also snap into the lid so it's not in the way. We found it in Home Depot up here in Canada. Cori I have a problem.... My two year old is showing all signs for being ready for potty training, BUT his small stature prevents him from being able to sit on his little potty securely. His feet don't touch the floor, and his little bottom is too small for him to sit on it without " falling in " . He is now scared of it and won't go near it unless the lid is down. It is a First Step brand potty and I can't figure out what to do.I'm afraid to try the seats that go on the toilet because if he fell in it would be even more traumatic. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks so much.
Guest guest
Oops - one thing I would add about height of the seat... We built Jess a stool, a real simple one. We took a 2x10 and basically just made layers. The bottom layer is two boards thick and about 2 feet long. The next layer is two boards high and about 4 " less and the third is the same, again about 4 " inches less. It's really heavy but that's good because it's not meant to be moved and it's really stable. It worked great for us because it fits snugly inbetween the wall and the toilet in our bathroom and she can reach the paper on the other side from the toilet seat. She loves her independence ! Cori attn. all mommys!! I have a problem....
