AP photo of Col. Norman Vaughan, grand marshall of parade in

Anchorage, Alaska Saturday riding atop the seat of a car appears to

be a man in late 70's early 80's,riding tall and alert. He is the

last surviving member of Admiral Byrd 1928 expedition to Antarctica.

Age 98. Must have been the seal oil.
