Guest guest
Hi folks: As I have noted before, only very recently have I, for the first time ever, checked carefully for nutrient deficiencies in my diet - using fitday.com The past few weeks I have found that, at least according to the data at fitday, I am deficient in only two nutrients, but considerably so in those .............. calcium and zinc. Since I am eating a pretty healthy diet (even if not 'optimized' in terms of nutrients per hundred calories to anything like the standards of some people here) this really surprised me. For anyone interested to know why it is not a good idea to be deficient in zinc, read the following: www.foresight-preconception.org.uk/summaries/frames/zinc-nf.html It seems like a credible source. And if anyone on a CRON diet who is NOT deficient in these two elements would care to share how they do it, it would be greatly appreciated. The calcium/oxalic acid issue makes me wonder if I may be more deficient in calcium than even the numbers show. Do the fitday data take account of the fact that much of the calcium from leafy green vegetables is not absorbed? And the amino acid/bone density issue makes me wonder about the dairy product route for calcium. Rodney.
