Guest guest
Coconut Oil has a sunscreen protection factor around 15 I believe. Bonnie CO as sunscreen? Not sure if it has an SPF??? I was wondering if you guys had good suggestions of more all-natural sunscreens to use? THANKS! G.
Guest guest
I think I read coconut oil had a natural SPF 15 rating. Sorry can't help with any other sunscreens. > > Not sure if it has an SPF??? Guest guest
I live in Hong Kong and VCO is the only thing I have used for sunscreen for the last 6 years. I can apply a bit and sit in the sun all day with no signs of sunburn. Hong Kong is the same latitude as Cancun Mexico. Cheers, Doug CO as sunscreen? Not sure if it has an SPF??? Guest guest
I use a body lotion that has beta glucan in it (antioxidant). It's not really a sunscreen, but it supports the immune function of the skin. Carol > > Not sure if it has an SPF??? Guest guest
Just thought I would submit my experience with VCO as a sunscreen. My hubby and I were in the Caribbean on a cruise in Nov Dec and I used it and gave others some. I am dark and olive complected but can burn pretty good. I did get red but with no pain and within 8-12 hours it was already turning a lovely brown. We were white having come from the Great White North central B.C. Canada. I still have a very nice tan I had no blistering, no pain, and no peeling. I am now looking at mixing a blend of VCO and Red Palm Oil which is also suggested to supply antioxidants to the skin cutting down on damage. I imagine it would pull up a really nice tan also as it has a lot of pigmentation in it to start with. I am most impressed with no pain and the tan lasting this long. As a note of interest the travel agents 13 yr old son was with us and he was sporting a cold sore. I gave them a dollop of VCO and said to put it on the cs and mix a bit of his saliva with it. When we all got together at dinner the next night you could not even see he had had anything on his lip. It's pretty wonderful stuff. Top o' the mornin' to ya and the rest o' the day for me Cat
Guest guest
Coconut oil allows you to have a nice tan but NO SUNBURN. It protects the skin from sunburns. Just apply generously and it will do the work. I've used this in the beach/ocean many times. I also re apply after getting out of the water.
