Well we NEED you to post more often. If nothing else, to remind us of KISS

(Keep it simple, stupid).

We need a discussion group, not to figure it all out (Walford has done that

for us), but to remind us of that, (and to keep people on the right track -

because of the temptations all around us).

I myself, would probably have gone off CRON a long time ago if not for the

group. It's our " AA " .

Ok well, devil’s advocate here…no…Walford

didn’t figure it all out for us.

His is a book, a good book, but not the only book. I wish, Francesca, my friend,

that you’d stop referring to his book with biblical respect. In our age of information explosion, his book

will soon become yesterday’s messiah. It’s good that we keep our ears to

the ground, listening for the next good book to come along. It will.

We are eager, too eager, to find answers

to our innermost burning questions.

I doubt anyone among us can honestly say, “I don’t know what

to eat,” or “I don’t know when to eat,” or “I don’t

know how much to eat.” We

know. The problem is that we aren’t

cavemen anymore. We aren’t

warriors. We aren’t slave laborers.

We aren’t starving orphins on the streets of London. We are so far removed

from the caveman-within-us that WALKING actually feels like exercise. We’ve reached a deadly point in

our evolution where common sense must dictate our eating habits, or we’ll

fail to procreate and survive as a species. Living to 120 is hardly the

question, I fear.

Lack of common sense is the enemy. Help us, heaven. Restore our dignity.

There are several relatively new people in

the group who don’t know me. I’ve

been quiet lately…listening, digesting. Believe it or not, I’m moderator

here, so if you post doesn’t go through in the

late hours of the night, it’d be my fault.

Hugs

Suz

I'd have to agree that walford didn't figure out stuff like set point, eg. The first time I read Anti aging, I dropped it at the first error. Then I realized books are written by several authors, and they don't always collaborate - make the book consistent. For example, stating that fish oil is good in one place then in the menu stating to remove the skin because of excess fat, the very fat we're eating the fish for. Sorry, I used to critically examine contract RFP's and proposals, so the second time I read the book, I laughed all the way thru.

I marked pg 10, "Danger signals..."You have to use judgment and consult you doctor".

I didn't find a lot add'l in the 120yr.

He has a lot of good info, but we have no scientific way to determine set point, or how much protein to eat to prevent heart muscle loss (other than an unsubstantiated post in CRsociety that I could not verify). And I didn't see a statement in either book to monitor blood pressure everyday for arrhythmia.

Regards.
