Guest guest
I am usually very cautious and conservative in the things I try, but I am recovering from a week of coughing/cold and tried the 1/4 tsp turmeric and 1 tbsp VCO. After I took a shower, I spent the next half hour on the pot, alternating between diarrhea, abdominal pains, nausea (never did vomit) and cold sweats. I don't think my cold is any better, either. I don't think I'll try this again ; ) Georgia > > May i say here that when you have a cold, cough, take > a tablespoon of vco with 1/4-1/2 tsp turmeric powder > and this would help you kick out the cold/cough fast. > I just found out about this. Guest guest
Turmeric is high in oxalate. Folks like me need to avoid all high oxalate foods like turmeric, spinach. and many others. Are you sensitive to other high oxalate foods? Guest guest
Georgia I am sorry that the vco+turmeric did not work for you and gave you abdominal pains. I am a bit perplexed because it has always worked for me. Also someone said it has worked for her/him too.
Guest guest
Thank you, Alobar, I wasn't aware of what foods were high in oxalate, so I did a small research. Most of the foods that are high or medium are not ones I usually eat. A few are on my sensitivity list....like green beans, which I do like, but most of them I don't even like; perhaps because my body knows I shouldn't have them. I am aware that most foods one is sensitive to are those we like the most or least. I am glad the reaction didn't last any longer than it did and am grateful to know the cause. I haven't had any problems with the VCO, so I figured it had to be the turmeric. Thanks, again. Georgia > Re: Coconut Oil Re: > VCO+Turmeric Not for me! > > Turmeric is high in oxalate. Guest guest
Thank you, . One reason I tried it was because a second person had good success. Well, I guess we are all different and don't know until we try what may or may not work for us. At least the difficulty was short-lived ; ) Georgia > Re: Coconut Oil Re: > VCO+Turmeric Not for me! > > Georgia > > I am sorry that the vco+turmeric did not work for you > and gave you abdominal pains. Guest guest
I'm not giving up on the VCO! I am having lots of good results from it. I am grateful to have learned about it. I'll just take it without the turmeric : ) Georgia > Coconut Oil Re: VCO+Turmeric > Not for me! > > Poor Georgia!
