He fell from the top of a semi trailor loaded with slick tree logs.

When he hit the ground, it broke his right hip and his thigh bone

too. Was nasty looking in the xray. :) They put a pin and steel

rod in him to hold the hip together and the leg stable because it was

so bad.--(note here that we do NOT go to the doctor, so we are the

medical ride of a life time)-- When dh's leg isn't healing so months

later they try a bone graft to get the bone growing. We find out at

the 1yr mark that the graft didn't work because his body rejected

it! Of course they don't tell us this until they are demanding a 3rd

surgury. DH of course tells them " NO WAY " in no uncertain terms.

lol! So now after 1 year and no healing at all, dh starts on the

herbs and puts off the next doctor appnt so there is time to see if

the herbs are going to work. Next appnt he is to meet with his doc

and a surgical specialist (to prepare for surgery). His doctor tells

him that he NEEDS the surgery and that no healing can be seen then

sends in the specialist. Well, we get the whole lecture --this is

what they wanted to do, remove the pin and steel plate and put in a

different one!!! This means drilling new holes in the bone that is

already compromised and leaving all the other holes and break there

to heal???. Well, he already hadn't healed any, so how was he going

to heal all these new places they were going to make AND the break as

well???---Okay, so during the meeting with the specialist, after he

stops his " talk " , I ask him if there are any changes or healing going

on at all. Know what HE says? Yes!!!! There is some small signs of

healing!!!!! This is 5 weeks AFTER dh started taking the herbs and

suppliments! :) So, dh declines the surgery and tells them he will

have to think about it and will be back with an answer. 6 weeks

later he goes in to have things checked. Guess what, HE WAS

HEALING!!! The doctor was amazed to say the least. lol! Dh refused

any medical treatment and went on with his herbals and healing. 12

weeks after he started taking the herbs, he was basically healed.

The doctors were in shock and we were THRILLED. :) It has been 2yrs

4 months now since the accident and dh is doing fine. His right leg

is shorter than before, so he has a shoe lift to level him out.

He had such a success story with this, that we share it when we can.

I guess we feel that it is important that people know how well the

herbs work and on a break that was 1 yr old to boot. :)

Hope that helps fill in the blanks a bit. Feel free to ask any

questions that you may have.

They did know what we were doing and the specialist, though he had no

faith or knowledge of herbs/uses/or how they work, said that what

ever we were doing seemed to be working. He did want to know what we

did when it was all healed (though I never did send him all the

info), he still couldn't believe it.

They never did any physical therepy. Probably because the PT people

are total idiots like the mds and they knew we felt that way. They

don't know how to listen to what an individual needs at all. They go

by the text book for EVERYONE whether it is right for the person or

not. (Sorry, we have had run ins with PTs that didn't have a clue

what they were doing and wouldn't work with us and our bodies at all.)

First off, we weren't dealing with any open wounds when we started,

so we could freely use comfrey. We would have to modify what was

done if we had known what to do at the very beginning, as we couldn't

have used comfrey compresses or the comfrey tincture rubs with an

open wound.

What he did do was Drank 3 cup of Comfrey leaf tea daily for 4 weeks

(and then off and on for a few more weeks). At he same time he used

comfrey compresses made with comfrey leaves and roots 3 times a day.

He traded using comfrey tincture for the compresses and continued

using this as a rub on his hip and thigh for many weeks to follow.

He also took 3 Vegetal Silica tablets daily for 4 weeks (or maybe a

little longer). He took the homeopathic 2 tablets calcarea

phosphoria 6x ea for 3 weeks. Add to this 1 tablet *Now royal jelly,

and 2 tablets of mag/calcium supplements.

I think that covered it all. lol! It was a lot of work, but the

results were worth every moment of it.

They just sent him home just 3 days after the accident (me ready to

deliver a baby anyday), and we had to bath him, keep the dressing

changed, etc...... He used a walker for may months and wasn't

allowed to put any weight on the leg at all for a really long time

(can't remember how long, but it was months!) I think they started

allowing him to touch his toe with some weight after the bone graft

surgery, to help stimulate bone growth. Because of the type of

break, he was unable to do any weight bearing, so this didn't allow

the bone stimulation to aid in its healing. This was the worst break

they had ever seen and to be quite honest, I think they used him as a

test subject. This makes me sick! But I do believe that is what

they did. Anyway, after the bone graft he started being able to put

a little bit of weight on the hip/leg, so he used crutches now during

the day and the walker at night. They didn't tell us he hadn't

healed or that the bone graft had failed. Dh was even told that he

was doing fine!!!! So it was a complete shock when at a year mark

they told us there had been no healing at all. GRRRRRR!

Let me tell you, it was amazing to see the healing start and to see

dh's face light up when they told him they were seeing improvement

and bone growth. He was so motovated and into getting this all

healed up! He couldn't wait to be told he was totally healed. It

was a great achievement for him! He did in 12 weeks what the doctors

couldn't do in over a year and with two surgerys. :) We ARE thankful

that the mds were there to put all the pieces back together and

repair the hip and leg though. Oh, there was a piece of bone missing

after the injury (it shattered!), so at that 12 week mark, that was

the only place still in the process of healing. The docs said that

it probably wouldn't fill in and would always be missing a piece

there. Dh can't wait to prove he has healed that area up too. :)

I don't mind sharing all of this with you at all. It is nice and

hopefully helpful for others to hear.
