Fibromyalgic type pain (muscle weakness and aching) is sometimes

linked to lack of vitamin D (Sunshine vitamin), as reported by

Dr. Holick:

Very logical. As soon as I started taking some Vit D, my nightime leg

spasms stopped! Ron: are you in a northern part of the country? Or in a

northern country?

Hi Francesca:

I had recently been getting cramps in my feet at night. Then a few

weeks ago I found my diet was deficient in calcium, so I started

taking calcium supplements (which also contained vitamin D!).

Only this minute have I realized that since taking the supplements

my 'cramps' have disappeared. I would never have made the connection

if you hadn't mentioned it. How interesting. Perhaps I should stop

taking the calcium for a couple of weeks and see if the cramps return.

The information here is amazing. (Thanks folks).

Rodney.

Thanks, all, for your replies. I live in Northern California and

avoid sun like the plague-long sleeves, sunscreen, walk the dog at

dusk/night, etc. I think I'll amend this now! Probably my Sicilian

genes screaming for sun. Not nice to fool Mother Nature. Symptoms, at

least superficially seem to point in Vit. D direction. I'll pursue

further investigation and sun. Thanks again.
