Gimicky, perhaps, but that does not mean it may not be effective. I've

changed my diet radically several times. One becomes accustomed to new foods

and leaves the old behind. These " induction " periods can be usefull, both in

changing taste preferences and eating patterns, and in resulting in rather

rapid weight loss for some that may serve as a strong incentive to continue

the programs.

I hope you're right. My husband is on the " South Beach " at the moment. He

likes all these fads.
