Guest guest
Greetings, Francesca- As you've already noted, other should probably have an explanation field. Also, perhaps multiple entries should be an option. I use several of the listed methods to help with sleep. In addition, you might add other supplements (tryptophan, 5-htp, valerian). Thanks! Guest guest
Thanks to all who responded. I'll add " hot bath " (one I must try myself and one I hadn't thought of), and over-the counter herbs and supplements. Chris: multiple entries are always an option in our polls. I thought I explained that, but perhaps it wasn't clear. By all means check off as many as apply. To JR: I've read " The Promise of Sleep " . Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem of sleep as one ages and it gets more difficult to get a good night's sleep. One thing I did get out of the book is that the latest sleeping pills are very advanced and relatively harmless and to take them without regret or worry (which I sometimes do) To all: I'll start a new poll but will wait til end of day perhaps, to give others a chance to respond on 2/26/2004 1:08 PM, dowlic@... at dowlic@... wrote: > Greetings, Francesca- > > As you've already noted, other should probably have an explanation > field. > > Also, perhaps multiple entries should be an option. Guest guest
Hi Francesca: If you are going to revise the sleeping poll, here is a suggestion: It might be instructive if your form were to solicit responses to your new list of possible answers FOR EACH OF TWO TYPES OF sleeping problems, instead of what I would call 'aggregated' as it is now. It seems to me there are two different types of sleep difficulties that are quite distinct and probably have different solutions. The first is taking a long time to get to sleep in the first place. The second is waking up at, say 4 am, and being unable to get BACK to sleep for a couple of hours. If everyone votes exactly the same answers for each, nothing will be lost. If they vote differently we might learn something important. I would not vote the same way on both. Rodney. > Thanks to all who responded. Guest guest
Hi Francesca: Sounds good to me. What do others think, I wonder?
