Guest guest
Good grief! Why, oh WHY do people not use the Bcc box in the address line? Hundreds and hundreds of email addys are being sent all over cyberspace! If you would not give out your friends' physical addresses or phone numbers, why do all the folks who forward these spam-scam emails who not only DON'T check snopes for validity not select all the addys in the text of the email and just hit DELETE!?! Then, if one MUST forward the email, use the Bcc address line. This *hides* all the email addresses you are sending it to from all the recipients. Just a little lesson in internet security *and* etiquette. That was for free.
Guest guest
Absolutely and AMEN to this! Please all read this " Simple Guide to Better Posting " . 1) HOW TO CROP MESSAGES When you reply to posts, please remove any part of the original post and extraneous text before sending. You do not need to include an entire post to respond to it! Include just enough to give context to your response. If you are not doing this, a busy moderator is having to take time to do it for you. Cropping messages is very simple. When you hit " reply " in your email, the original post you are responding to will show in your email text box. Right-click and highlight what you don't need and click " delete. " 2) Trim your reply to a message Quote only *relevant* portions of the original post. Edit your replies to include enough of the original message to give other readers the context for your message. 3) PLEASE TRIM POSTS In most cases it is not necessary to copy the entire post in your reply. Please copy the *pertinent part* that you are replying to, make sure it is clearly marked in quote brackets. To forget to trim or worse, to copy back an entire digest makes the next digest practically unreadable. 4) TRIM DOWN QUOTES When quoting or responding to another person, *edit out whatever isn't directly applicable to your reply*. Don't let your mailing or Usenet software automatically quote the entire body of messages you are replying to when it's not necessary. Take the time to edit any quotations down to the minimum necessary to provide context for your reply. Nobody likes reading a long message in quotes for the third or fourth time, only to be followed by a one-line response: " Good Idea! " This saves reading time, disk space, network bandwidth, and makes things faster and easier for everybody. > > Good grief! > > Why, oh WHY do people not use the Bcc box in the address line? > Hundreds and hundreds of email addys are being sent all over > cyberspace!
