Guest guest
Hi I am new to the club my name is . I am 24 years old and have hypothyroidism and narcolepsy. I had a goiter in 1996 and it started choking me so they had to remove most of my thyroid. That was not fun. Besides being tired all the time from my thyroid my sleeping disorder works against my thyroid. It's very hard to feel the way we feel. It;s hard to live a normal life. But I have noticed if you can ever exercise a little everyday it makes u feel like u have more energy and also not as tired. My problem right now is I'm having my gain weight symptoms, hotflashes and I always feel tired. I check my thyroid levels there normal, but my neck on the side where I have my throid still there is swollen and I have all the symptoms of my levels being abnormal. I get this ever so often and don't know what causes it especially when my levels are normal.

I just thought I'd let you know a little about me and to tell you about the exercise. Hope to here from you soon.

Guest guest
,

Hi,We talked a little bit yesterday.I have only had hypothyroidism for 11 months, and have not had some of the things that a few members talk about on the site.I do know that since I have started taking my meds that all the things that made me go see my doctor have either gone away,or I just don't notice them.I have started walking everyday on a treadmill for 30 to 45 mintues, and I found that I have not been as tired as I was when I just found out I had this.I don't try to give out advice because I know alot of people on this site know alot more then I do about this.I know that I feel alot better, and I have decide that this will not beat me...that I will get back to feeling the way I did before my doctor found this.I'm feeling alot better and I'm still taking the same amount of Levothroid(0.05MG)that my doctor put me on at first.I think if you have a good outlook on this then you have no choice to get better.Thank you for letting me say what is on my mind.
Tracey:o)

Guest guest
" wow, two weeks! My last vacation/holiday of more than 3 days was over 3 years ago! Glad you had a good time, take any pictures? " Hi Mike, Sorry to hear you don't get more days for nice summer vacations... But, I think it's better to have a 2-day vacation full of events and lots of good, unforgettable memories to take with you than a month long vacation with just about nothing special in it, don't you think so? Anyway, my holiday was really great and I think better that the last ones I had... maybe it goes with growing up, I don't know but it was so fun... And yes, of course I took plenty of pictures of myself and friends, family and everyone else, but the problem is that I'm still begging my parents to buy me one of those cool, precious little things: a digital camera! So, I can't send you my pictures, unless I scan them at my friend's place, which I might do, but I'm not sure when... One of my biggest missions these months is to collect some money and convince my parents that I really and badly need a digital camera... Guys, pray for their approval... lol Best wishes, Radmy

I saw your new pictures - they're nice and you are very beautiful. You are so lucky that you live in London... It's one of my favorite world cities and is on my top 10 " how I would love to visit it " list ) I have some friends and realtives there and I often receive lovely postcards from London... Anyway, hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes, Radmy

Guest guest
Hi Terri! Just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. Let us know how you make out tomorrow with Mikey's doctor appt. Limbo is hard-when you are waiting for answers. And good luck getting your car and computer fixed-everything at once, huh? I watched my husband quit smoking-it was hard, but he swears by the patch. Made it doable for him. I'm sure that if you ended up avoiding FO/EO's, you'd be able to market scent free products. People are really interested in " natural " things, and you are very creative. You could always take orders for those slippers, too! They are a hit!! Take care- :-) Carol J
Guest guest
Thanks Carol, I'll try to post later with what we find out at the Dr's... this may be one of those visits where you aren't told anything until another visit. UGH! Hope not...... I need to know what's up with Mikey's heart now... you know. He's my baby. I'm doing o----k (note that word wasn't together) with quitting smoking. Think I'm going to try the gum though. I'm ok in the house until I sit at the computer or get on the phone. Right now all I've done is cut down A LOT, but I want to quit all together. If I went into the slipper business I'd have to charge $50+ a pair for those slippers to make a little bit of profit! Either that or get myself a sheep farm LOL Wool can be expensive! Well I better scoot and put the laundry in the dryer or else Mikey is going to have to nakie to the Dr hehe Terri
Guest guest
Kathi - I wasn't going to send my packet in, but you just made me change my mind. Why not? I don't feel I got the best results, but that doesn't mean someone else won't, right? I actually thought more about my post back to you after I wrote it and thought it might have been bad advice. Especially about the " who knows " part with the date and the picture. It's not right to lie about it - I guess I was just trying to get across that this is really for you and entering the contest is a side bar. They sent you a $250 EAS Gift certificate? Did you use it? Guest guest
Hi Jarom! I am Jerome. I don't have cochlear implant right now but I intend to get bilateral implant this coming May or this coming June. Going for bilateral implant is having two hearing ears instead of one. Technically, you will be able to determine the location of the sound, you will hear soft sounds better, because what you heard on your left and on your right will somewhat " add " up inside your brain, so you will hear louder without necessariliy increasing the loudness in one ear. Other benefits would be the ability to hear well in noise, elimination of head shadow effect. Regards/ Jerome Hey! Hey, I have a appointment this Friday with my audiologist about the possibility of me going bilateral. We are going to discuss about that and see what she thinks. Then I will have to make a appointment with the surgeon and discuss with him about that. I have selected the brand and it will be the same one that I currently have which is Nucleus 24 Contour. It totally depends on the surgeon and insurance. If everything work the way it is supposed to then I should be implanted in Fall. :-) Can those with two implants tell me the benefits so I can present them to the audiologist and surgeon? Thanks! Guest guest
hey paulai did get some paperwork from the school yesterday. basically the courses i took do not match up to their required curriculum so hence why none of my business courses and what not counted. the math, thankfully, is only one semester. tonya and i had some back and forth on that on FB about what is a good course to take. i just have to take another level of math at community college then i can do the math at LC. i was upset about it at first but i think i can pull a couple bucks together for that. apparently the class i took in the former college was not an accredited college level class. i didn't know you can get some compensation for it but its been so long i wouldn't even know where to begin LOL. i hope terry can get his school worked out too. i thought they offered some assistance for learning disabled folks. like doing some other math prep courses! i will be ironing out the last few details soon. i just hope my advisor info comes in before orientation. since i only have to take one semester of math i might take it closer to when i have to start taking my major courses as the class i am thinking of taking will help with my major. also going with latin and latin literature in translation since some medical/anatomy terms have latin base . my general courses aren't going to be as many as i thought and that is SUCH a relief. there is a wellness class all students have to take and i already have the text so i think i am ready! Guest guest
You should take a medical terminology class. They will teach you what the various prefix, suffix, and root words mean in the medical field. Or maybe you could buy a book and start studying up on your own. I've never taken a class but I've interpreted two medical terminology classes and I have about 3 books. When I can see better maybe I will brush up on my medical terminology skills. You will do great in school because you are motivated! Guest guest
Kassis- You have a great attitude! Don't give up! :-) Keep on studying hard! Have you applied for Federal Pell Grants? I hate to see you have to scrimp so hard for school. I would think with your family situation you would be a shoe-in for a little help. You have paid the taxes for it. Use it if you can! Terry's school has a serious case of left hand vs. right hand issues. I don't think he is going back this semester. Registration has already been in progress for a few weeks and he hasn't registered. We are starting to think he should just go into business for himself no matter what happens, and right now I think he isn't seeing the value in the education he has received thus far. I wish he would go back soon, but really I wish he would just choose a career path and go after it 100%. HE is a brilliant artisit, but his self-confidence is lacking. I think his self-confidence was damaged by bad schools calling him stupid rather than working with his disability and recognizing how gifted he is in other areas. Frustrating!!
