If anyone wants to know

A great tree has fallen...

Roy Lee Walford, M.D., 1924 - 2004

passed away due to respiratory failure and complications from ALS,

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

We honor the multi-faceted legacy of this giant with the following:

from www.walford.com (I believe this is his own website)

And if you wat to know about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Hi All,

Thank you temma675.

I was interested in:

" The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages about two to five

years from the time of diagnosis. Half of all affected live more than

three years after diagnosis.

About twenty percent of people with ALS live five years or more and

up to ten percent will survive more than ten years and five percent

will live 20 years. There are people in whom ALS has stopped

progressing and a small number of people in whom the symptoms of ALS

reversed. "

How long did Roy W live after diagnosis?

Cheers, Al Pater.

From our file in Dr W's own words:

" My neurological problems started during the last 6 or so

months inside. " ( the biosphere). He was 67 at the time. But Dr W is the

first one (see our file ) to say that his problems have no bearing on

anything and that he is only " one mouse " .

The complete file is called " DR Walford's Posts "
