endive

Just went to the store and found out there are three types of endive. Two

look like curly lettuce (something like kale) and the third looks like a

tiny much lighter green head of romaine (?) called " Belgian " endive. That's

what I bought. Rather expensive. Is this the right endive?

Belgian endive is right if you're looking for Vit. K (and Sherm used to

include it in his brownies...).

It's a touch tart in comparison to other greens, but adds a lovely tanginess

to salads. You can blanche is lightly as well or shred it and add to veggie

side dishes, etc.
